Christos Ellinas

Biography

“Dr. Christos Ellinas is the Co-founder and CTO of Nodes & Links, a deep-tech company that helps project experts make better decisions, delivering time and cost savings in capital and infrastructure projects. It does so through its AI platform Aegis, which combines sophisticated data models with automation and a smooth user experience. Nodes & Links was a finalist for ‘Best Innovation in Simulation’ and ‘Best AI Product’ at CogX 2020, and for ‘Product Innovation of the Year’ at the British Construction Industry 2020 awards.

Christos is a visionary technologist with a broad interest in the application of deep technology and big/rich data to improve project delivery. Initially trained as a Civil Engineer (University of Bath, UK), Christos completed an Engineering Doctorate in Systems Engineering (Bristol University, UK). He later spent two years as a Research Fellow in Engineering Mathematics (Bristol University, UK), funded by a prestigious EPSRC Fellowship, and in parallel was a Visiting Professor at the Stevens Institute of Technology (USA). His research has been featured in many technical conferences, journals – from interdisciplinary physics and finance to engineering – and industry-focused guides, including IRM’s ‘Extended Enterprise: Managing risk in complex 21st century organisations’. Christos recently co-edited a Special Issue in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Systems journal, where he also contributed an invited perspective article. Christos was the finalist for the ‘Research Writer of the Year 2013’ and the ‘Fraser-Nash Best Paper Award 2014’. He was awarded the Actuarial Foundation’s ‘2015 ERM Research Excellence Award’.
